Lucky the Bullet (August Bonus)18.08.2015
I'm a woman of my word, which is all well and good unless you're someone who gets immensely excited about a creative idea and makes wild promises without thinking through the logistics of executing them. Fortunately, nothing a little patience and determination can't fix. I belong to a book club that meets once a week in the city in which I live. We usually read one book over a month and each week we meet, discuss and do activities related to the theme. Recently we finished, 'My Bloody Life: The Making of a Latin King' by Reymundo Sanchez. Our leader that week brought in a London gangster quiz, we couldn't find an American one, and we were able to choose our gangster name. Mine wasn't that great, Gertrude the Guvnor (yes, spelled like that). But my friend Em, she hit the jackpot with, Lucky the Bullet. Immediately, I thought - great name for a song. And so, I spoke the thought and thus it had to be done, and here we are again. "Lucky the Bullet" (Music & Lyrics copyright Kate Ann Morris 2015) Lucky is the bullet which breaks your heart The only thing, that doesn’t feel as it tears apart And I know I, I was crossing my fingers (But) hope has no place When in my bones I should know It’s still you It’s still you At times of the day I could give it all away It’s still you oh It’s still you oh It’s still, you Your voice, is a lullaby From a language we no longer speak And I know it’s, it’s not my name (now) You think about It’s still you It’s still you At times of the day I could give it all away It’s still you oh It’s still you oh It’s still, you It’s still you x6 |
