"How close to the mic should I be?" (How to spot a rookie in the recording room)
Seems word has started to get out about my odd little music project 12 Songs in 12 Months.
About two weeks ago I was approached by GFN Radio to be a guest for their evening programme, "City of Light", hosted by Arlo Matisz.
Radio as medium appeals to my introverted nature so of course I jumped at the opportunity.
But a common symptom of introversion is that you have a loud mind that likes to invent things to worry about. So, on that note, it may be unsurprising that I spent the 10 minutes prior to the show making a deal with my stomach not to make weird noises; because Murphy's Law in those situations right? Plus nerves, plus the fact I hadn't eaten dinner yet- could be a whole unwelcome orchestra in there. Move over Beethoven's 5th...
Fortunately, I held it together.
Once I had cast various anxieties aside, I had a great time and having just listened to the interview back - not too shabby Kate. I think I did a solid job there. Spoke a tad too fast, but didn't sound like an airhead so, I'll take that as a win!
